I attended a seminar on “Buzz marketing” this weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The purpose was to teach how to create a wave of public interest in a product or offering.

It’s been well established that an inferior product with better marketing will defeat a superior product with worse marketing. Therefore, those who believe in quality need to understand superior marketing tools. That’s why I attended.

The trainer surprised me. He asked the question, “What is the most important ingredient in your success?” Most of us thought the answer would be something like good planning, proper execution, adequate capital, or a truly superior product or service.

It wasn’t any of these things. He explained that one’s brain is the most important thing, then proceeded to give reasoning and examples to support this assertion.

He pointed out that there’ve been numerous documented instances in marketing campaigns where a single small change made the difference between success and failure. Further, a single change can multiply the success of a whole marketing campaign.

He spent several hours taking us through various exercises so we could understand our primary approach to thinking. He divided our approach into four categories: evaluators, creators, activators, and investigators.

While all four categories are present in every individual, we all have a primary approach and most of us have a single strong secondary approach. (I am an activator with a strong dose of creator.)

He then made the commonsense observation that those of us with a particular aptitude or orientation need to surround ourselves with others having complementary strengths.

While I found this interesting and informative, it got me thinking. Many of us do little to strengthen our own brains. This is surprising considering the fact that the brain is arguably the most important organ in the entire body. It governs the decisions we make and just about everything of consequence in our lives.

Today, I’ll share with you some of the technologies I’ve learned that can help your brain function better now and for the rest of your life.

Have you heard of colloidal gold? Several research studies indicate that it promotes emotional equanimity, may be an effective antidepressant, and (perhaps most interestingly) appears to enhance functional intelligence by as much as 20%.

I myself have been taking it consistently for over six months. It’s totally free of side effects. (Colloidal gold consists of 10 ppm gold and the rest is pure water.)

Personally, I believe I’ve noticed all the benefits stated above. You can learn about this interesting product at http://www.purestcolloids.com/ (note: neither Agora nor I have any financial interest in this company).

It’s interesting to contemplate the fact that the priest classes of the high civilizations of ancient Egypt, ancient India, and ancient China all ate from golden vessels. While some would surely argue that this had more to do with displays of power than any health benefit, it seems to me an interesting coincidence.

They were certainly ingesting microscopic quantities of gold. Even to this day, peasant families in China typically own one gold coin with which they cook their rice. The coin may be the most valuable item in the whole family. Why do this unless some knowledge was handed down, and deemed of great importance?

Unfortunately, no pharmaceutical company can ever benefit from studying colloidal gold since there’s nothing to patent. So we may be left wondering about this mystery for quite a while. Meanwhile, I’ll keep taking my colloidal gold…

Perhaps even more important to your brain’s functioning is its physiological health. Age-related decay leads inexorably to mental decline. Or does it?

Various studies have found that regular exercise — both mental and physical — keeps brains younger. That’s nothing new. What’s new is that a supplement has been discovered that protects the brain from age-related decay known as oxidation.

The function of antioxidants such as Vitamin C has been well explained in the media and I’ll not belabor the point here. However, few realize that the youthful body itself produces an amazing antioxidant called superoxide dismutase, or SOD.

SOD is MILLIONS of times more powerful than Vitamin C. Indeed, it is far more powerful than any other antioxidant on the market today.

Until about age 20, the body produces SOD robustly. Unfortunately, thereafter production declines at an accelerating rate — a rate that correlates closely with markers of aging.

It’s safe to consume and has been synthesized. So, why isn’t it widely sold and consumed?

The reason is that following oral ingestion SOD is destroyed in the gut. However, Transformational Technologies Portfolio holding Lifeline Therapeutics Inc. (LFLT: OTC BB) has figured out how to restore the body’s own production of SOD back to youthful levels.

In fact, tests at the Webb Waring Institute of the University of Colorado show that when 70-year-old men take Lifeline’s Protandim regularly their SOD levels soar to those typical of a 20-year-old.

In rodent studies, healthy lifespan was increased about 20%. It’s too soon to tell if this translates to humans, but I’m taking Protandim and telling everyone I know to do so. (There’s also a “generic equivalent” version being sold on eBay. It’s called Longevita. Since Protandim is a compound made of five herbs, this is not surprising.)

Will Lifeline’s great marketing of a fantastic product assure its success? It’s too soon to tell. However, the company has achieved distribution in GNC stores across the country.

That’s a great start.

To your profitable future,
