Behind the Scenes Investing

Editor’s Note: Today we have a great look at the kinds of companies that penny stock investors should be looking at. Gunner is here to explain… And, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, send to us here: jim@pennysleuth.com.

My Money Is with the Guy Behind the Guy
By Greg Guenthner
May 2, 2008

“Look at this, OK? I want you to remember this face here… This is the guy behind the guy behind the guy.”

Swingers

Smooth-talking Trent, along with his bumbling, nice-guy sidekick, Mike, are two struggling actors trying their best to pick up dates during a Las Vegas road trip. During their pursuit, the guys eventually meet up with a waitress and her friend at an after-hours bar. To break the ice, one of the women asks Mike what he does for a living.

“I’m a comedian,” Mike says.

His response leads to a variety of questions about his booking agent, what clubs he normally works and his travel schedule. Mike, a small-time emcee at an unknown comedy club in Los Angeles, fails to impress with his answers. The ladies then turn to Trent with the same question.

“I’m a producer,” Trent says.

The girls are impressed; they have no questions about his alleged occupation. He is the guy behind the guy. He’s a producer. He’s the person with the contacts and the money — the right equipment — to help get the job done.

Of course, this is just a story from a funny movie. But it does offer us some very applicable insight into the tricky world of microcap investing. When it comes to small-time companies, investors should be looking for the same qualities our waitress and her friend seek from their dates…

“How Will I Know What and When to Buy and Sell?”

Answer: This one is simple. I’ll tell you exactly what to buy, when to buy it and when to sell it.

I’ve recommended a total of 106 plays with specific buy-and-sell recommendations. Eighty-eight went up. And the average gain over all of those plays, including losers, was an amazing 64%.

Behind-the-Scenes Profits…

Our friend Mike is a struggling comedian, trying to make his way in an incredibly competitive industry. To make it to the top, he’ll need to compete for gigs with bigger, more established and more recognizable comedians and actors. It’s an uphill battle. Most aspiring talent never make it in the entertainment world…

Trent claims to be a producer — a no-nonsense character with the capital to get a project of any size moving. That’s where we want our money…

Nine times out of 10, micro-caps manufacturing “guy behind the guy” products are the ideal investment in any sector. We don’t want just any cog maker. We want the company making the unique, patented, industry-leading cog. We want the business selling its in-demand product to large and small companies alike. We want it to be a product that’s instrumental to the success of an industry…

An investment in the “guy behind the guy” can also create an additional margin of safety. Ideally, the business will not be dependent on sales to one or two major customers. If a single customer falls on hard times, it won’t drastically affect our business.

These are the kinds of investments that Wall Street almost always misses…until it’s too late. We on the other hand, don’t…

Best,
Greg Guenthner

P.S.: In our more elite service, Penny Stock Fortunes, we recently recommended one of these “guy behind the guy” companies. It has the patents and intellectual properties to take on the biggest and best of the software world. In fact, the company has so much behind the scenes power, it has even fought the likes of Microsoft and Sony. To get in on that one — as well as our other “guy behind the guy” stocks — before Wall Street does, click here

Editor’s Note: Just so you are on the inside track, we will be launching a new package that should interest you. While I can’t go into details yet, I can say this… Members of this elite group will have access to the most lucrative moneymaking services we offer…for life. It’s specifically tailored to penny stock investors… We should have it ready to go in the next few weeks. So, keep your eyes peeled.
