| Wall Street Won’t Tell You It’s a Bear Market By Stephen T. McClellan, CFA May 15, 2008
We are in a bear market, but Wall Street will never admit it. It is so emphatic in a bull market, but loathe to address bad times. I know the market is only off 10-15% from its October 2007 peak, but just wait. I spent 32 years as a securities analyst on Wall Street, and unlike the current youthful generation of analysts, I experienced several major downward cycles. The current economic and financial backdrop is probably the worst since the 1930s depression. But it doesn’t seem like that if you listen to stock brokerage commentary, TV media or the government. It is hard to keep track of all the bubbles, especially those that have not yet quite burst, such as oil and commodities, commercial real estate, consumer credit and stocks. Learn Why Savvy Investors Flock to Penny Sleuth—Home of Small-Cap Analysis You Can’t Find Anywhere Else
Penny Sleuth is your smartest, most lucrative small-cap resource. We cover small-caps the way CNBC covers boring blue chips—with enough energy and intensity to light up a major city. The difference is —we mix in quality research and insight. Since 1926, small-cap stocks have outperformed every asset class—including gold stocks, real estate and large-caps. Yet, you never hear about them in The Wall Street Journal or The Financial Times. The mainstream media simply ignores the most lucrative stocks on the market. Why do they ignore small-caps? The answer is simple, and also frustrating. It’s in the best interest of the press (and brokers) to only cover the behemoth stocks because to actually dig deep and investigate small-caps would require more effort and time than they’re willing to commit on your behalf. It’s that simple. In the blink of an eye, the best profit opportunities in the entire market are glossed over—and you only hear about the blue chips. Luckily, small-cap gems are all we focus on here at Penny Sleuth headquarters. Penny Sleuth is your one-stop small-cap stock source. We work hard to give you the chance to see tremendous gains from the most overlooked asset class on the market. Our analysis and research gives you an edge in the small-cap world. The press and huge brokerage houses still don’t think small-caps are valuable enough to even bother with—that’s their loss—and your huge gain. Investors who go against the tide of popular (and useless) opinion to craft their own destiny are the subjects of many magical investing stories…and you can start yours today.
