Last week presented investors with mediocrity once again. Major broad-based indexes, like the S&P 500, managed to hold their collective heads below water for the last five trading days as economic numbers failed to live up to the hype that was built up ahead of them. So, are there breakout penny stock charts for March 2010 to be found right now? Of course…
The real problem now isn’t the numbers themselves – it’s the expectations.
We’ve just come off the heels of one of the worst economic bubbles in our history, and many on Wall Street expect a return to the same old way they did business… the way that got us in trouble in the first place. Any real recovery is going to take time, and until analyst expectations reflect that we’re going to see disappointing results when numbers are released.
That said, companies have seen an uptick in consumer sentiment, increased profitability, and reasonable valuations once again. With that in mind, we’re going to take the fundamentals out of the equation today once again and look out for some of the best breakout penny stock plays for March 2010 on the market right now.

Gruma S.A.B. de C.V. (NYSE: GMK) – This Mexican tortilla and flour producer isn’t a stranger to our small-cap watchlist. In addition to providing a recession-resistant product in a volatile country, shares of the Nuevo Leon-based food processor are sitting at the bottom of an uptrending channel – a good spot to make a long-side bet.
Netgear (NASDAQ: NTGR) – Networking product company Netgear is benefiting in a big way from a breakout above its trend channel, a move that clears the company to higher ground. The $893 million firm has been riding a wave of improved analyst sentiment in the last month, and this latest breakout could make Netgear a winner in the coming week.
Quality Distribution (NASDAQ: QLTY) – We’ve talked about Quality Distribution in the past here at the Penny Sleuth. For a while now, the micro-cap trucking stock has been forming a bullish ascending triangle pattern. Wait for a breakout above current resistance, and this stock could be in store for a breakout ride.

They have very exciting results in a Phase II trial in Alzheimer’s disease and were well on their way into a Phase III trial with FDA support when they ran out of funding in 2005.
They have now found support of sophistacted investors and are being rolled into a shell company with guaranteed financing to restart their clinical program.
This one could easily become a very important company with real science, data and clinical experience to back up their development stage status.

Check out AARP. Up 23 % since Thursday of last week and climbing. The company is currently drilling a new well on property that is already producing. Expect news on this latest well this week. They plan to drill a new well each month for the next ten months. So far, they are doing what they say they will. The chart looks like up-sloped consolidation for short time frames, is shooting up on weekly chart. NO old resistance–only sells are profit takers. My pick is Silverado Gold (SLGLF). This stock is beaten down but when the company gets financing this stock could really fly.
I’m liking YRCW as a short squeeze. PTSH because they have income and the disabilities act. MCLN is being covered by Goldman microcap.
I’m going for the same pick as last week. Same situation, same litigation,… but the patent infringement court-date for dismissal was punted until March 12 to give the sued party a week or so to attempt to recraft a decent reason for suit dismissal.

I have never been one who tries to turn a profit in a day or even a week for mere pennies, dimes, or
quarters per share on a trade. But would rather study and pick for longterm growth and make many dollars
per share over time. The few people who know me personally over the years as a stock picker are at times
questioning my logic, and later.. ‘stunned’ with my profit margin when i am correct with my logic.
I bought Dominoes pizza (DPZ) ~NYSE early 2009 under $5.00 per share on my thesis that they lost market
share to rival pizza delivery company Papa Johns (PZZA) , due to being the ‘top dog’ and no upstart can top
them. …Complacency. As a famous boxing trainer said to his once famous but now underdog fighter before the 1st round of the comeback fight~ “what are ya gonna do about it!” ….DPZ is now on track to take back the title, and is now within range of most small time home traders at just over $13. per share. ..I see them easily reaching $24. or higher by the end of the year.
The train is slowly leaving the station on my pick a week or two ago, whenever the hell it was, i bought it last year under $2.00 per share. Somaxon Pharmaceuticals (SOMX) …Now $4.50 and climbing daily.
Cell therapeutics has a new trial for FDA approval of its cancer drug, hell i can’t remember how to spell it. But i bought them in 2008 for the ridiculously low price of 0.17 per share. I wish them luck. if they don’t hit

something to research that i didn’t know about beforehand for maximum gains in the future if i buy. Funny thing is…Many small & micro caps some have recommended are already in my portfolio.

I hope they get shorted tomorrow below $9 per share so i can jump in and buy a bargain. I feel sorry for those who died in these disasters, but those who remain will have to rebuild. …They need cheap cement

Funny you asked. i bought ‘GERS’ last year and spent the small sum of $20 dollars to buy at 0.001 just to
see what they can do in the future. $20 dollars buys a crapload of shares at that price so what do you have to lose? … Greenshift is traded daily on the PK at high volumes, and the only way to make money in the
short-term in my opinion is to buy a few million on a downturn and sell them the next day, or intraday when
the share price goes up. …I bought them for no other reason than maybe they will flatten out and do something a few years from now and go to …maybe a nickel a share …which will be a helluva payoff !
